Celtic squad revealed as Brendan Rodgers' strongest combo to be entrusted with title task
Just one more small step is needed for Celtic to tick off part one of a league and cup double.
Brendan Rodgers' men thought they might have gone into Wednesday night’s trip to Kilmarnock with the title in the bag as Dundee raced into a 2-0 lead over Rangers on Tuesday. But their rivals came roaring back to win 5-2 and force the Hoops to do it themselves in Ayrshire, where a point will see them crowned champions for the third successive season.
Rodgers has vowed there will be no let up until everything is done and dusted, which includes a Scottish Cup Final showdown with Gers on May 25. Rugby Park has not been a happy hunting ground for the Bhoys this season, seeing their League Cup defence fall there at the first hurdle back in August, while they witnessed a lead become a 2-1 defeat during a sticky patch in December.
So full focus will be required against Derek McInnes' men, who secure fourth spot at the weekend and booked their spot in the Europa League qualifying rounds. Alistair Johnston seems to be fit after John Lundstram's reckless Old Firm lunge forced him off at the weekend. Celtic have looked back to full strength in recent weeks and Record Sport looks at who Rodgers will entrust with delivering yet another league crown.
