Channel 4 sitcom Stath Lets Flats has fans 'in tears' with second series opener
Channel 4 sitcom Stath Lets Flats returned with its eagerly-anticipated second season tonight, and fans of the show were ecstatic to see it back on the small screen.
In the new episode, Greek-Cypriot estate agent Stath (played by series co-creator Jamie Demetriou) struggled to come to terms with the fact that his father Vasos (Christos Stergioglou) no longer worked at the London-based family business.
He found it particularly difficult to adjust to brash colleague Julian (Dustin Demri-Burns) being his new manager. Disgruntled, he slammed the boss's glamorous promo for the company to anyone who would listen.

Elsewhere, his sister Sophie (Natasia Demetriou) made plans to launch a music career and his colleague Carole (Katy Wix) tried to convince everyone that she wasn't coming down with a mystery illness – despite her red face and constant need to vomit.
Later on in the episode, Carole reveals that she is pregnant, panicking Stath as he realises the pair slept together two months prior.
Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement about the show making a comeback.
Absolutely hysterical! Love that Stath is back. Great family viewing (if you have two Stath loving teenagers!) #StathLetsFlats

Talking to The Independent ahead of the new season, Demetriou laughed off the idea that Stath Lets Flats is "the perfect parable parable for our fractured Brexit age," saying it's "about everything but that".
He explained: "I don't know if this is irresponsible. But I really wanted to just try to create an out-and-out comedy. You can't attack every issue with everything you do.
"I understand that housing and Brexit interlink in a way that sort of needs flagging up, but I don't think this is the show to do it. It's not a satire, it’s a family comedy about a sweet idiot."
The next episode will see Stath finding himself looking for a place to rent himself when his father tells him he needs to move out of the family home.
Stath Lets Flats continues next Monday (August 26) at 10pm on Channel 4.
