'Chaos' in Kurdish Parliament as Brawl Breaks Out Over Electoral Issues

A brawl broke out between members of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in the Kurdish parliament in Erbil on May 22, in what Rudaw said was a dispute over “the reactivation of the electoral commission”.

According to Rudaw, the KDP had proposed reactivating the electoral commission after an impasse on electoral laws in the semi-autonomous Iraqi region saw elections delayed.
