Charlie's Angels' Stars Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu's Most Heavenly BFF Photos

To kick off the first episode of her new eponymous talk show, Drew Barrymore welcomed her Charlie's Angels costars and real-life pals Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu as her first guests on The Drew Barrymore Show (although Diaz appeared remotely from Los Angeles via TV magic).

"I couldn’t begin this journey without two women who have been a part of my heart for over 20 years. We are friends, we are fellow angels," Barrymore began.

"The thing that I love about our friendship is that we have been there in all the big and important moments, we’ve also been there in the small moments and the casual moments and the reason we are such good friends is because it’s real and we go through real stuff with each other. It’s not a Hollywood fairytale," she added about their two-decade bond.

But let's take it back to where it all began, with one of the most iconic red carpet photos of all time: Cameron Diaz, hitting the red carpet bronzed and barefoot with her costars at the L.A. premiere of Charlie’s Angels 2: Full Throttle in 2003.

Proving themselves to be angels IRL, Liu and Barrymore gave Diaz a hand getting out of her painful pumps, much to the delight of the paparazzi.

Explaining the back story of the frame-worthy photo, Barrymore wrote on Instagram, "It was the NYC premier of Charlie’s Angels 2 and I had hired an old school bus with Christmas lights and hanging rubber chickens to take us there! And I was like 'Trust me! This is going to be so fun to show up in!' And then it broke down! Literally 'smoking from the hood' broke," she shared. "And so we walked the rest of the way. But not before I grabbed the champers and said 'well this is good too' and off to our fun evening we went. And we’re all still peas in a pod."

Post-champagne sipping, the trio posed for a sultry shot together.

The girls made a habit of arriving to the Charlie's Angels premieres in style, looking glam as they rolled up in a convertible with red leather seats to the L.A. Full Throttle premiere.

The trio took the stage to sing in prime early-aughts 'fits during a visit to MTV's beloved Total Request Live in June 2003.

The actresses, who played elite, crime-fighting detectives in the movies, trained for up to 8 hours a day leading up to their well-heeled fight sequences.

The angels revved up our need to track down these star-spangled jumpsuits in this press shot.

"We love each other and support each other. Always will," Barrymore has said of their trio.

The longtime BFFs showed off their glowing complexions in this makeup-free snap, in which Barrymore advocated for "sunscreen always" in the caption.

Barrymore shared a sweet tribute to her "sister" on Instagram in July 2017.

"Remember to spend a moment with the ones you love in your busy life. She has made me feel beyond beautiful. Always has. Always will. #thankgodforyourfriends. They rejuvenate and confirm everything," the 50 First Dates star wrote.

The girls reunited to celebrate Liu receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May 2019.

“My dear Angels, it’s a 20-year reunion,” Liu said during the ceremony, as she looked over at her friends. “20 years ago we were an elite crime-fighting team, and now look at us.”
