A man has appeared in court charged with murder after the body of a mother-of-three was found at a house in Camarthen on Christmas Day.

Charmaine MacMuiris' body was discovered at a home in Maes y Ysgol.

David Thomas O'Sullivan appeared before Llanelli magistrates to face one charge of murder.

He is accused of stabbing to death mother-of-three Ms MacMuiris on Christmas morning at his home in Maes Year Ysgol, Carmarthen.

Wearing a blue jumper and unshaven, O'Sullivan only spoke to confirm his name, age and address before being remanded into custody.

A statement from her family said: "As a family we are heartbroken and devastated by the loss of our beautiful daughter. Our lives will never, ever be the same again.

"No family should ever have to face such a tragedy.

"We would like to thank family, friends, relations and neighbours for their support and kindness during this sad time."

Tribute pages have also been set up on Facebook.
