Chelsea's preparations for Sunday's London derby against West Ham have been further complicated after their flight back from Greece was cancelled due to bad weather.

The Blues already faced a swift turnaround following their 1-0 victory over PAOK, with the weekend's match at the London Stadium due to kick off little more than 60 hours after the full-time whistle in Thessaloniki.

Maurizio Sarri and his squad were originally due to arrive back in London in the early hours of Friday morning, but their three-hour flight still hadn't departed Greece by late morning.

The delay will limit recovery and preparation time before Chelsea travel across the capital aiming to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season, which has propelled them to the top of the Premier League.

However, the Blues were less convincing in Europe on Thursday night and Sarri bemoaned their failure to "kill the match".

"We were in control of the match for 90 minutes," he said. "We have had a lot of opportunities. We missed several.

"So I am really very happy with the three points, very happy with the performance, but I am not very happy with the result. When it is time to kill the match we have to kill the match."
