Chelsea’s form might be somewhat of a concern but, frankly, Everton look like exactly the kind of opposition Thomas Tuchel would have asked for.

Indeed, Rafa Benitez is under huge pressure at Goodison Park after a run that has seen his side win just one of their last six games. Arsenal may have slipped up against them but the manner of their loss at Crystal Palace on Sunday will be hugely concerning.

Without star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and suffering more injuries in the build-up to tonight’s Premier League game at Stamford Bridge, facing the European champions looks like another daunting task for Benitez.

Chelsea, like title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool, have a very favourable fixture to navigate in order to keep the pace at the top of the league as the fixture schedule ramps up.

Date, kick-off time and venue

The Premier League game is scheduled for a 19:45pm kick-off on Thursday December 16, 2021.

Chelsea vs Everton prediction

Tuchel’s side might have been leaking goals of late but, thankfully for them, Everton aren’t exactly prolific while some key attackers are out of action.

Crucially, Everton have (rather atypically for a Benitez side) also been struggling defensively, so Chelsea should have enough to overcome them.

Chelsea to win 2-0.
