CHERRIES are reportedly considering an approach for Aston Villa striker Cameron Archer.

That is according to Birmingham World, who say Villa are ready to listen to offers for the 22-year-old.

Archer spent last season at Sheffield United, having joined the Blades on a deal worth a reported £18.5million.

However, the move included a clause whereby Villa were obligated to buy back the striker, should Sheffield United be relegated from the Premier League, which they were.

As such, Archer is now back with his boyhood club, where he has made 14 appearances, scoring four goals.

Archer, who scored four goals in 32 appearances on loan last season, has also previously had temporary spells at Solihull Moors, Preston North End and Middlesbrough.

He was prolific at international level with England’s under-21s, scoring six times in 11 outings.

The report claims Villa “could soon receive an approach” from Cherries regarding Archer, with the club having been “tracking the striker’s progress”.
