Cheryl halts Girls Aloud show in Belfast for Nadine Coyle passport dig

Cheryl couldn't resist getting a dig in at her Girls Aloud bandmate Nadine Coyle, over her infamous 'passport lie' as the group performed in Nadine's native Northern Ireland on Monday night, stopping the concert to poke fun at the iconic moment in pop culture.

After massive demand for tickets led to extra dates for the tour being added before they'd even gone on general sale, Cheryl, Nadine, Kimberley and Nicola started their The Show tour at Dublin's 3Arena on Friday night, in front of a captive audience of fans. They remained in Dublin to perform another concert on Saturday night, with Cheryl suffering an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction during a performance of Sexy, No, No, No; when the inflatable skirt underneath her failed to do what it was meant to, meaning she caught everyone's eyes for the wrong reasons,

From Dublin, Girls Aloud headed north to Belfast on Monday, after a day off, with Northern Irish star Nadine over the moon to be back on home turf. And, given the love for Nadine and all of the Brit winning group from the Belfast group, Cheryl seized the opportunity for an affectionate jibe in Nadine's direction.

Back in 2001, after the success of UK Popstars and its act Hear'say, Ireland launched its own version with Nadine making it into the band. However, producers were alerted to the fact that Nadine had slipped up when giving her date of birth on camera, with it then materialising she had lied about her and was actually too young to be in the group.

Footage saw a panicked Nadine ringing her mum and asking if she had her passport, with that clip quickly becoming legendary and, a video from Monday's Belfast concert, shared on social media shows Cheryl telling the crowd: "We had to come to Ireland anyway... You know why? To make sure Nadine remembered her passport!"

Nadine herself saw the funny side too, joking that, to everyone in Ireland, she'd always be 16.
