Cheryl's Ex Jean-Bernard Was In Love And Insisted On A Prenup

It’s easy to forget that Cheryl is still married to the French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez Versisni, pictured below, because soon after their split she fell into the arms of One Direction star Liam Payne.

Cheryl recently dropped her estranged spouse’s surname from her stage moniker, which helped us to move on as well.

However, divorce proceedings are still underway and a report has emerged that Jean-Bernard was so in love with the singer that he insisted on them both signing a pre-nuptial agreement before they wed in 2014.

And the 35-year-old businessman is upset over media reports that have painted him out to be seeking a better deal and more cash through their divorce settlement.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “JB was the one who insisted on a prenuptial agreement. It was his idea, not Cheryl’s. He still hasn’t signed the divorce papers but that isn’t because he wants her money.”

The source added: “He was very emotionally invested in the relationship and has found it hard to get his head round the split. It’s been a tough year for both of them, JB wants to move on as much as Cheryl does. It’s not fair he’s being made out to be after her money, when actually it couldn’t be further from the truth.”

But if pictures of the 33-year-old beauty and Liam, 23, are anything to go by, Chezza has firmly put the past behind her and hasn’t let the stress of her looming divorce get in the way of her happiness.
