Yahoo News Chewing Gum series 3 won't happen
E4's hit sitcom Chewing Gum won't be back for a third series.
The show's writer and star Michaela Coel has confirmed the sad news on Twitter, thanking the show's fans for their support.
"Thank you to all of you. Chewing Gum has been amazing but it's only the beginning, more stories to tell, & my latter will be greater," she wrote, adding that reports she had reached a 'creative peak' weren't true.

Channel 4 released a statement of their own following Coel's announcement, leaving the door open to working with her on another show.
"Chewing Gum is a vibrant, hilarious and unique comedy of which we are incredibly proud. Though there currently aren't any plans for a third series, we hope to work with the hugely talented Michaela Coel again soon," they said.
Earlier this year, Coel joked to us that being involved in every aspect of Chewing Gum's creation has aged her "15 years every time I do it".
"It's brilliant working on something else. There's a lot of pressure that's gone. It means I can really focus on one thing, instead of spreading myself thin," she explained, adding that she wasn't sure about a third series back then.
"Definitely, every time I finish it, I don't have any expectations, because then I'll get really upset! I just think… this chapter is finished and what a lovely, hard but rewarding journey it's been," Coel noted.
Chewing Gum series one and two are available to watch in full on All4.
