Child 'assaulted' in park as police release CCTV footage of person of interest

A child has allegedly been assaulted by a man in an Oxfordshire park with police hoping to speak to a person of interest.

Police say the boy sustained grazing to his arm in the incident and did not require hospital treatment.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said a man approached a group children in Harwell Park, in Harwell near Didcot, before allegedly assaulting a teenage boy.

The man is believed to have approached the group between 6.30pm and 7pm on Saturday, June 22.

Thames Valley Police has now released an image of a man with whom officers would like to speak to in connection with the assault investigation.

Case investigator Beth Elliott said: “I am releasing the image of a man who we believe may have vital information that can assist this investigation.
