A children's hospital suite has an eye-catching new look.

The suite at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton has been refurbished and now has an underwater theme.

It is where fluoroscopy procedures take place - this creates real-time videos of body movements by using X-rays.

As the regional paediatric centre, the hospital now offers the only 24/7 dedicated paediatric fluoroscopy service in the South East.

Emily Loaring, senior paediatric radiographer at the hospital, said: "What a difference. We smile whenever we walk into the room.

"It is great to have the new suite and equipment, which is very easy to use.

"It is making the process of having the procedure done far less stressful for everybody involved."

Parents of patients have also approved of the new refurbishment. One, Robert Curtis, said: "I’ve been in fluoroscopy rooms before, but I’ve never seen one that is so well set up and decorated."
