Love Island star Chris Hughes has revealed why he decided to leave a fertility conversation he had with his ex-girlfriend Jesy Nelson in his new documentary.

The pair starting dating in 2019 before going their separate ways earlier this year, but the Little Mix singer makes an appearance in Chris' new BBC documentary Me, My Brother and Our Balls.

In one scene, which was filmed before their split, Chris is seen phoning Jesy to tell her the "good news" that he is fertile.

"Yay, so we can have lots of babies?" Jesy replies, to which Chris suggests: "I think we can probably have three or four."

Chris explained why he decided to keep the scene in despite his and Jesy's breakup.

"The beauty of Jesy being in the documentary is that it showcases a conversation that couples have. It's very relatable," he told Mail Online.

"Obviously we supported each other when we were together. I still support her now with things, whether I do that publicly or not, I still do support her anyway.

"It's just one of those things really. It's great for the documentary because it's real life isn't it? It was essentially a moment. We were having those conversations at the time – I guess it's just that really."

Me, My Brother and Our Balls will air on BBC Three from September 30.
