Christmas Tree Hauled Into Nebraska Capitol Building Ahead of Lighting Ceremony

A towering fir tree was hauled into the Nebraska State Capitol building in Lincoln on December 2, ahead of a tree-lighting ceremony on December 8.

Pete Ricketts, the governor of Nebraska, shared the video and said: “The Christmas Tree is at the Capitol! Join us this Sunday at 2:00 pm for the official Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.”

Local media reported that crews used ropes to drag the massive tree to the Rotunda of the Capitol.

The Lincoln Journal Star said the tree was lifted to a standing position after the star was put in place.

Last year’s tree was over 35 feet tall and its decorations included 169 ornaments created by local artists.
