When Ciara Miller returns to Summer House for season 9, she’ll be under the same roof as her ex West Wilson. But the nurse and model, 28, told PEOPLE she plans to “roll with the punches.”

“That's part being in your 20s is screwing up some things and restarting and figuring it out,” Miller said while celebrating the launch of TRESemmé's Keratin Smooth Weightless Collection.

The reality star revealed that in the wake of her split from Wilson, 29, she’s "single" and "dating" around. Miller, who also previously dated Winter House costar Austen Kroll, shared that she feels “less inclined” to date someone on TV again.

“I keep getting my feelings hurt, so I don't know,” she said. “It does create this weird thing of wanting to be more of a recluse and kind of reel it back. But in the moment, it's so fun, but then not all parts of it are fun.”

Miller admitted she doesn’t even watch herself back on TV in order to “protect myself.”

“The lag time is around six to seven months,” Miller explained of the time between filming and when the episodes air. “Mentally, I've really tried to move on, but it makes it hard when you're watching it back, and the emotions do feel really fresh sometimes. So it's a battle, but then you're seeing clips of it on social media and everything.”

The Bravo personality credits her therapist and “a lot of phone calls” with costars Amanda Batula and Paige DeSorbo with helping her cope with reliving challenging moments from the show.

“It really is fun that I can capture every moment and I can go back if I want to,” Miller said. “The fun times I love to rewatch, but the hard times, it's kind of like, ‘How did I end up here?’ We're just figuring it out.”

Despite being single, Miller said she prefers hearing from female fans rather than prospective male partners in her DMs.

“I am for the girls in my DMs that are just like, ‘I can relate' or 'I've been there and you're not dumb,’” Miller said. “The girls honestly make it worth it through thick and thin and bad and good. The girls that message you and are rallying behind you — Christ, how are we not picking girls over guys all day long? It’s really such a community.”

Miller also appreciates hearing from older viewers who offer her perspective. “I love getting messages from women who are in their 50s and 40s telling me that I'm on the right path and reassuring that you're in your 20s and you make mistakes and you're figuring it out and this is such a small part of your life in comparison to the big picture,” she said.

Miller and Wilson started dating when the sports journalist entered the house for season 8 last summer and continued seeing each other into the fall. During part 1 of the Summer House season 8 reunion, Wilson revealed that he and Miller ended their relationship in December due to his concerns about navigating being in a relationship after the show aired and he entered the spotlight.

“Early December we had a dinner about like laying it all out there and figuring out what we were going to do,” Wilson said, later adding, “I don’t think we walked around saying boyfriend-girlfriend but basically, we hung out every day.”

Miller stated that Wilson told her at the time that he couldn’t commit to her for “show-related reasons” after she met his family and they attended a wedding together.

“I’ve done a couple watch parties where people f---ing show up and do whatever. That’s pictures and it's, the Bravo fanbase is all women,” Wilson said. “There’s these random things that I’ve never experienced before. Not temptation, just, is that a s---ty look then to go these watch parties with women?”

Miller called that an “easy cop-out” and said she felt like she “got got” by Wilson.

In the second part of the reunion, Wilson took responsibility for the breakup.

“My feelings were genuine, I think I just expressed myself maybe too late after it was too late to, you know, figure things out,” he said. “But I'm sorry overall for hurting you and it’s obviously still painful. I mean, it's painful for me too. It's my fault.”

When asked by host Andy Cohen if she still had feelings for Wilson, Miller confirmed she did.

“It would have to be a world of change or something like it and I just don't know what people are capable of so... I mean, I’m not holding my breath for anyone,” she said of the possibility of rekindling with Wilson. “I can’t sit here and say that I like don’t still like him.”

When filming on season 9 begins in the Hamptons on Friday, July 5, Miller and Wilson will be back in the Summer House with Batula, 32, DeSorbo, 31, Kyle Cooke, Lindsay Hubbard, Gabby Prescod, Carl Radke and Jesse Solomon, as well as new cast members to be announced. Danielle Olivera previously said that she would not be returning for season 9.
