Class A drugs found in package shipped to Herefordshire

A CONCEALED package found by police contained class A drugs being shipped into Herefordshire.

Police seized the class A drugs when police dog Loki sniffed out the package on its way to its destination.

The drugs were thought to be for distribution in Herefordshire.

Praising police dog Loki, a spokesperson for the West Mercia Police dog unit said: "Loki has been busy disrupting the supply of drugs this week.

"His nose took officers to a concealed package containing class A drugs destined for distribution in Herefordshire."

Loki was born in 2021 and became a fully trained police dog in 2022, having been named by school children in a competition.

He started training with his handler at just eight weeks old, spending many hours learning to follow instructions and developing his nose for searching.

He is a liver-and-white English springer spaniel, and works as a firearms, drugs and cash detection dog.
