The Classic and Performance Car Spectacular at Tatton Park in Cheshire this weekend promises more than 2,000 historic vehicles from all eras and from all over the world - and as if that weren’t enough, there will also be a special Telegraph award judged by yours truly.
More than 90 car clubs will be exhibiting their members’ vehicles alongside superb examples owned by private exhibitors.
The show acknowledges the vital role the clubs play in promoting their chosen marque and historic vehicles in general to not only keep the classic movement alive but to increase its appeal to the next generation.
Such is their integral role that cash prizes are given to the top three displays at the show every year.
As well as a mouthwatering selection of cars, there will also be a classic car autojumble that runs on both days. More than 200 stalls will include specialist suppliers and enthusiasts offering a vast array of parts and automobilia.
Dave Youngs, car club manager at title sponsor Lancaster Insurance, said: “The Classic Car Spectacular is our first foray in the north and with around 2,000 classic and performance cars set to be displayed, there is really something for everyone.
“At the show, we’ll be on hand to talk to attendees about their classic car insurance needs and also giving them the chance to win a 1991 Mazda Eunos Roadster in our year-long competition – it’s going to be a great weekend.”
There will also be entertainment, plenty of food stalls and the all-important beer tent.
Adding to the family appeal, Tatton Park includes landscaped gardens, a working farm, Tudor old hall and more than 1,000 acres of deer park.
The Lancaster Insurance Classic and Performance Car Spectacular takes place at Tatton Park in Cheshire on June 1-2. Tickets on the gate cost £9 for adults and £6 for 10-15s, with under-10s admitted free.
