ITV's Cleaning Up returned for episode two on Wednesday night (January 16) and viewers were still left scratching their heads over the show's gaping plot holes.

The drama follows single mum Sam (Sheridan Smith), who's struggling to raise her two daughters thanks to her dire financial state, which isn't helped by her gambling problem.

But Sam finds a sneaky, and very illegal, way to get rich quick when she begins dealing in insider trading, using the information she gathers during her job as a cleaner at a top financial firm.

While episode one left viewers wondering how Sam managed to get her hands on the firm's financial data so easily (what about the UK's General Data Protection Regulation?), the next instalment raised even more questions.

In one scene, viewers were shown Sam attending a job interview at a recruitment firm where she tried and failed to use Microsoft Excel.

Then, a few scenes later, Sam's computer skills drastically improved as she was able to download confidential files to a zip drive.

However, there were some viewers who jumped to Sam's defence, as they themselves are yet to master Excel.

There was also the issue of Sam being able to go into the office during the day and look through an employee's computer.

After paying someone to set off a fire alarm, Sam was able to look on the computers freely – as clearly no one ever locks their screen and the building has no cameras.

Cleaning Up continues next week when Sam will have hopefully decided which 3D printer firm to invest in. Why not both? She is a gambler, after all.

Cleaning Up continues next Wednesday (January 23) at 9pm on ITV.
