Clever crooks carry out Mission: Impossible-style heist on Glasgow business

Clever crooks have carried out a Mission: Impossible-style heist on a Glasgow business.

Police say they were alerted to a report of a housebreaking at a premises on Bath Street in the city centre.

It is understood thieves swooped on a prominent business on the street during the early hours of Friday, June 21.

The force says they received a report of the incident at around 8.30am this morning.

A source told the Glasgow Times during the heist the brazen robbers carried out a Mission: Impossible-style robbery.

It is believed the culprits climbed to the second floor of the building, dropped in a skylight, and dropped down 20 feet before ransacking the property and bolting off.

The source said: "They climbed to the second floor, dropped in a skylight, and dropped down 20 feet."

Following it, neighbouring businesses on the city centre street have been questioned by cops probing the ordeal.

Currently, it is unclear what property on the street was hit by the crooks or if anything was pinched during the raid.

An investigation into the Tom Cruise-style mission is underway, Police Scotland has revealed.

Mission: Impossible is a series of American action spy films - which stars Tom Cruise.

In the film series, the 61-year-old actor stars as Ethan Hunt who is an agent of the Impossible Missions Force.

During one of the action-packed movies, Hunt can be seen climbing down a rope from a helicopter during a mission.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 8.35am on Friday, June 21, we received a report of a housebreaking at a premises in the Bath Street area of Glasgow that happened overnight.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
