Cliff Richard ‘Consumed’ By Sex Assault Allegations Says Old Pal Gloria Hunniford

Cliff Richard has become “consumed” by the sexual assault allegations against him, his old pal Gloria Hunniford has revealed.

Talking about how the accusations had caused an almost “unbearable” strain on the 75-year-old, his friend of nearly 50 years said Richard has become a shadow of his former self and can “think and talk about nothing else”.

Allegations against the singer, below with Hunniford, were made in early 2014, leading to police raiding his Berkshire home.

Hunniford told The Sun: “The strain on him has been almost unbearable.

“It’s that constant pressure of the last thing he thinks of at night and the first thing he thinks of in the morning, and the sheer frustration of seemingly nothing being done.

“He can think and talk about nothing else. The toll on him has been enormous.”

Earlier this week police sent a file to prosecutors to decide whether Richard, above in his pomp, will be charged over historic sex allegations over an incident in the early 1980s.

Hunniford also opened up about her friend during an appearance on Loose Women and said Cliff was “imprisoned” by the accusations against him.

Richard will find out if he will be charged with child sex offences within the next few months after prosecutors were handed the evidence against him.
