Get Up Close With Whale That Staged Spectacular Breach in Maui

A playful breaching whale got close to a family on a fishing trip near Maui, Hawaii, on Sunday, March 5. This video shows close-up shots of the spectacular incident.

Kela Fisher and her family were fishing off Maui when the whale approached their boat. They brought in their fishing lines and watched as the whale circled the boat for 20 minutes.

The whale breached close to the boat and did two jumps for the delighted family. Kela notes that her husband and brother have fished all their lives and have never seen a whale circling and breaching a boat. The whale was approximately 27 feet long, according to reports quoting Fisher.
