Coastguard Winchman Lowered Onto Grounded Russian Cargo Ship

A Russian bulk carrier, the Kuzma Minin, was grounded off the coast of Falmouth, Cornwall, on December 18. Emergency services were sent to assist from 6.15 am, the RNLI said.

Around noon the coastguard said that all crew were safe and that a refloat would be attempted. Conditions remained difficult, the coastguard said, with 60 mph winds.
