The trailer for season six of Netflix's Cobra Kai prepares fans for the Sekai Taikai, the prestigious world championships of karate, as some old secrets come to light.

In a first for the top streaming service, The Karate Kid spinoff's sixth and final season will be released in three parts. The first five episodes will drop on July 18. Part 2 and 3 will follow on November 28 and in 2025, respectively.

The trailer for Part 1 follows Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) training their students for the Sekai Taikai whilst they struggle to see eye to eye on which style to teach for the big tournament. Meanwhile, it seems that Mr Miyagi has left behind one last, big secret in a mysterious box that Daniel stumbles upon.

Fans will have to wait till July 18 for the content of said box to be revealed — that's when Part 1 will become available to stream on Netflix.

Cobra Kai season six production was delayed amidst last year's writers' and actors' strikes in Hollywood. Speaking about the grand finale, the show's creative trio Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg have reassured fans that this last season will be the "boldest" instalment yet.

"We are in the writers' room working feverishly, and we have been since the WGA strike ended. We are thrilled that the SAG-AFTRA strike has also ended," Heald said when production resumed.

"We are going back into production after the new year on the biggest, boldest season we've done yet."

The first five episodes of Cobra Kai season six will air on Netflix on July 18, part two will premiere on July 18, and part three will air in 2025.
