A CITY centre café which supports young people and adults with learning difficulties has been given a fresh look.

Colchester café Level Best is celebrating the installation of signage a year after its opening.

Having opened its doors to its café, gallery, and art workshops last April, Level Best Enterprises is working with Colchester Council on the building’s permanent storefront in St John's Street.

Previously located at Darcy House in Culver Street East, Level Best has been in negotiations with the council over the right permanent signage installation to fit the area, with part of the Level Best building extending onto Abbeygate Street.

In the interim, to ensure customers can find the variety of services on offer, the charity has installed temporary signage including window graphics to the front of the café and gallery.

The Café is home to more than 60 trainees and more than 110 sessions taking place each week.

Alison Ling, manager of Level Best said: “Our trainees, staff, and customers are so happy to have signage installed and it looks amazing.

"It marks a really important milestone for all of us at Level Best. It feels great to know we’re now more visible to the public of Colchester and that people know that we’re here.”

“We’re still working closely with Colchester City Council on a permanent solution, and we are hopeful we’ll be able to install Level Best’s new storefront in the near future.”
