Cold Feet's Fay Ripley shares her hopes for a reunion

Cold Feet wrapped up its ninth series earlier this year on ITV, and the official line is that the door is open for the show to return again, but it wouldn't be any time soon since they wanted to give the characters a break and only come back when they were at another stage in their lives.

When asked if she thought they would do another series, star Fay Ripley told the Loose Women: "It's not up to me, I don't know. I'd say, 'maybe not'.

"I'd say we should though, I wanna see what happens to these characters when they come out of lockdown. We know their houses and we know their families and they've all got their kids and everything else. Let's see if Pete's been on Tinder!"

Cold Feet originally ran on ITV from 1998 to 2003, and then returned in 2016 for a few more runs.

Creator Mike Bullen said back in February: "We feel we've explored to our satisfaction the issues confronting the characters at this stage of their lives and we want to give them all a little time to move on, to put clear water between the stories we've told thus far and the issues they'll be exploring when they are empty nesters staring down the barrel of grandparenthood.

"We're looking forward to returning at a later date to document the agony and the ecstasy of the third age."

The ninth series saw Adam and Karen explore their relationship, which not everyone was pleased with, while Jenny struggled with her cancer diagnosis and treatment, and David and Robyn gave things another go.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
