What did you miss?

Coleen Nolan has issued a health update after revealing she had been diagnosed with skin cancer.

The Loose Women presenter opened up about her diagnosis last year, explaining that she had carcinoma on her shoulder and pre-melanoma on her face. Speaking on the ITV show she said that she had been diagnosed after getting a red patch of skin checked out.

Nolan has now updated fans as she revealed that she ensures she wears a high factor sunscreen every day, regardless of the weather.

What, how, and why?

She opened up on ITV’s Lorraine during a discussion about sun protection, after host Lorraine Kelly asked: “Coleen, I know you had a wee scare… More than a wee scare, didn’t you?" "Are you someone who put sun cream on a lot?" she asked.

“Well obviously back in the 70s when I was little they didn’t, you know,” Nolan replied. “Your mum sent you out in the garden and you played and you got burned.”

The TV star – who is about to start a solo tour – went on to say that her carcinoma “is now gone”. “I have to sort the melanoma out after touring,” she added.

“But yeah, big scare," said Nolan. "And now I will not go out without SPF 50, even in the day, even in the snow, even in the rain.”

Nolan family has faced cancer before

Nolan and her famous siblings found fame in family singing group The Nolan Sisters, which went on to become The Nolans. The family has faced cancer several times over the years.

In 2013, 52-year-old sister Bernie died after battling cancer, and sister Linda, 64, is currently fighting brain cancer. The singing star was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2017 after first having fought the disease back in 2005, and last year she told Good Morning Britain viewers that it had now spread to her brain.

Another sister, Anne, has fought cancer twice, although in 2022 there was cause to celebrate when it was reported that the 72-year-old had gone into remission.
