Comedian Chris McCausland responds to Strictly rumours
Comedian Chris McCausland has responded to rumours that he'll be part of this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
Chris, who has appeared on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Have I Got News for You and Channel 4 reality series Scared of the Dark, has apparently been lined up for the 2024 series of the BBC One competition show, which would make him the show's first ever blind contestant.
Appearing on yesterday's (June 7) The One Show opposite hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, Chris was asked by Alex if he could say anything about the rumours going around.

"Are there [rumours]? I haven't seen the papers," he joked.
Undeterred, Alex continued her line of questioning, asking him: "If you were to take part, if you were, have you got much dancing experience or would you be fresh?"
Chris explained that he probably wouldn't make a very good ballroom dancer, for a multitude of reasons.
"I'm a child of the '90s grunge scene, I grew up with rock and metal and headbanging and mosh pits and crowd surfing. That is the extent of my experience," he said.
"Let's be honest, right. I don't think the BBC could afford the insurance. I mean, me? I'd take out three cameras a week."

There have been plenty of rumours going around about this year's line-up, including one of the stars of The Traitors, a successful Olympian and a soap star. The line-up will be confirmed later this year.
Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
