A "comically big" bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk, weighing a whopping 850g, is currently on sale on Amazon at almost half price. The huge chocolate bar has been slashed in price on the online retailer from £11.49, down to just £6.50 - working out at just 76p per 100g of chocolate.

Meanwhile, in supermarkets, shoppers will struggle to find Dairy Milk chocolate that costs less than £1 per 100g - with Tesco's 360g offering setting customers back £4.50, or £1.25 per 100g, while Sainsbury's and Asda sell 180g bars of the chocolate for £2, or £1.11 per 100g.

And purchasing the bumper-sized 850g bar of chocolate direct from Cadbury's would currently set you back the retail price of £11.49 - or £13.50, if you choose to add a personalised message to it at checkout. The chocolate bar is Cadbury's flagship brand, made with 100 per cent sustainable cocoa - and Prime customers can get one-day delivery straight to their doorstep, without having to lug the giant chocolate bar home themselves.

Shoppers have been raving about the mouth-watering treat, resulting in a 4.8-star rating out of five stars on Amazon, with over 26,000 reviews. Many have commented on what a "perfect" gift it makes, with one writing that it "went down a treat" as a Mother's Day gift, while another noted: "Such a great present for chocolate lovers."

Others remarked on the quality of the chocolate, with one saying: "Delicious and chunky just like the old days." And another enthused: "Bought this Cadburys Dairy Milk chocolate bar for a Christmas gift for a chocolate lover. Lasted them ages and they were pleased with it.

"The quality and the taste was exactly the same as normal Cadbury Dairy Milk bars. They couldn't have been happier with the gift. It was a delightful surprise for them during the holiday season. Would definitely recommend!!"

Meanwhile, another happy customer left their praise in the form of adjectives whose first letters spelled out 'Cadbury', writing: "Creamy, Amazing, Delicious, Blissful, Unforgettable, Rich, Yummy," alongside a five-star rating. However, it seemed not everyone was as happy, with faulty packaging being a recurring complaint.

Several shared photos of ripped or damaged packaging, with one writing: "This was supposed to be a gift so very disappointed in the state of the box, ripped and damaged and doesn’t stay closed. Good value for the amount you get but wasted when you can’t use it for the intended purpose."

And another echoed these sentiments, adding: "Unsuitable to give as intended Christmas presents as both bars have arrived with their packaging damaged. The chocolate inside is not broken, but the outside has been ripped and torn.

"Not worth returning so will use at home, and go to the supermarket to buy replacements. Probably should have bought from the supermarket in the first place."

For those seeking a wider variety of chocolate, Amazon is also offering a 2kg box of Quality Street for £20.99, reduced from £25.99, equating to just £1.05 per 100g - a bargain compared to Tesco's price of £3.50, or £1.59 per 100g, even with a Clubcard discount (£3, or £1.36 per 100g).

Additionally, the Kinder Happy Moments selection box is available for £18.28, featuring an assortment of Kinder Dark Chocolate and Milk, Kinder Bueno, Kinder Bueno White, and Kinder Schokobons.
