Competitive Eater Bests Her Own Time in 10,000-Calorie Nutella Challenge
A New Zealand competitive eater who has scarfed down many jars of Nutella in various challenges has bested herself, inhaling 10,000 calories worth of the chocolate hazelnut spread in less than 12.5 minutes.
Auckland-based competitive eater and model Nela Zisser can often be found making her way through outrageous food challenges.
A recent challenge shows her devouring two large jars of Nutella in 12 minutes and 27 seconds, beating her previous record in this challenge of 13 minutes and 15 seconds.
According to her YouTube caption, she ingested a whopping 4.4 pounds of Nutella.
Zisser’s YouTube account chronicles such food feats as wolfing down 10 Burger King Whoppers in 17 minutes, devouring a 1-kg burrito in just under 100 seconds, and consuming a 2.2-pound jar of Nutella in under four minutes. Credit: Nela Zisser via Storyful

NELA ZISSER: Hey, guys. It's Nela here. Today, I'm back with an epic challenge. I've got 10,000 calories of Nutella here in front of me. Well, it's actually over 10,000 calories. It's 10,820 calories worth of Nutella. Now, I'm so excited, because I absolutely love Nutella. And I reckon this is going to be absolutely delicious.
Now, each of these containers are 1 kilo each, which means that both of them together equal 2 kilos, which is 4.4 pounds. So that is a lot of Nutella. I did this video once before, and my time was 13 minutes and 15 seconds. So today, basically, I'm going to try to beat that time. So I hope you guys enjoy the video. All right. 3, 2, 1, and go. Oh, just look at that. That looks so good. Mm. That is thick. Oopsies. Still going. [CHUCKLES]
So thick. It keeps falling. I'll put it there. Can you see that? Is it still going? Oh my God. It is so thick. Oh my God. There's so much in my mouth and my teeth. [CHUCKLES]
First one down. Whoo! OK. A second one up there. Man. So thick. Look at how thick that is. I need a water break. On my hands. Whoo. So messy. OK. Oh my God. It's so sweet and so thick. But we're going to do it [INAUDIBLE] time-wise. 5 minutes, 40. OK. [SIGHS]
Oh, it's like-- backs up in your throat. [SIGHS]
[INAUDIBLE]
The best drink to have with this would be, like, warm milk. The water is slightly cold, which was probably a bad call. We're about half [INAUDIBLE] maybe a bit more. It's so thick. [CHUCKLES]
But we're making pretty good progress. [EXHALES] OK. [INAUDIBLE] my last time. So much chocolate. Oh my god. OK. OK. Couldn't do this. Mm.
I forgot how difficult this was. Oh my God. OK. Not much left. Not much left. I can see the bottom. [BURPS] Pardon me. OK.
Oh, man.
Oh my God. That was so much sweeter than I remember it from last time. My face is probably a mess. Yeah, I can see it in the-- oh my God. My hands are at least not too bad. [COUGHS]
Make myself a bit more presentable. Oh, man. That was so sweet. Like, insanely sweet. Oh my God. [BURPS] Pardon me. [BURPS] Pardon me. [BURPS] Whoo. All right. So that was 12 minutes and 27 seconds. I'm pretty damn happy with that. That was 10,820 calories worth of Nutella, which is absolutely insane. That is a lot of Nutella. And I got a better time than my last time. You know, it was just under a minute better, which is pretty good. I'm happy with that.
When I was eating that second one, I honestly didn't think I was going to beat my time. It was a real struggle. It was interesting, 'cause the first one goes down so easy. And then once it, like, backs up in your throat and gets, like, kind of stuck, I guess-- I don't know. It makes it so much harder. And the cold water was a bad call. I reckon milk is the way to go.
But I hope you guys enjoyed the video. A little life update. Today was my last day of my psych run, which I'm very sad about, because I absolutely loved it. It was so much fun. My consultant and my, like, other registrar and stuff, and all the senior docs--
Whoop. The camera went off. Yeah, were absolutely amazing. And yeah, I just absolutely love it. I'm pretty certain now that I'm going to do psych as a career. Yeah, so that's my life update. I'm about to go for a six-week placement in Rural GP, which is General Practice. So that'll be-- it'll be fun. But not looking forward to driving, like, an hour each way twice a day. So it's going to be, like, a two-hour commute each day. Probably more coming home, 'cause it's, like, lots of traffic.
So yeah, that's my little live update. Everything else is basically the same. If you guys have any more ideas about what challenges you want me to do, leave a comment down below. Remember to go check out my merch if you haven't already. I designed it myself, and I'm super proud of it.
