Yahoo News Work completed to prevent Herefordshire rockface crumbling further
WORK has been completed to repair a crumbling rockface in Herefordshire that was posing a risk to road users.
Temporary traffic lights were installed a a safety measure in Wilton Road, Ross-on-Wye. Last month, a spokesperson for Balfour Beatty said that 'further' failure had occurred at the rockface and there was concern more could happen, even with fencing in place to prevent debris entering the carriageway.
However, the work has now been completed.

A post on Herefordshire Highways' Facebook page said: "Following the recent slippage at Wilton rockface, our teams had installed traffic signals as an additional safety measure to prevent any debris breaching the fence and falling into the carriageway.

"A grab lorry was used to remove around nine tonnes of soil and stone from the recent failure. While traffic management was in place, we also took the opportunity to repair the wall near the skatepark.
Now the works have been completed on the wall, all traffic management has been removed from site."
