Nottingham Forest have signed teenager Eric da Silva Moreira from Bundesliga outfit St Pauli.

The wide-player has agreed a four-year deal which will keep him at the City Ground until at least the summer of 2028.

The Reds describe the 18-year-old as ‘an exciting, young talent who is quick, direct and capable of playing at wing-back or as a winger’, he joins having spent nine years at St Pauli where he progressed through the youth set-up to reach the first team.

A club statement says: “The youngster was a standout performer as Germany Under-17s won both the UEFA European Championship and FIFA World Cup in 2023, registering two goals and three assists across both competitions.

“Moreira made his professional debut for St. Pauli in March during a 2023/24 campaign which saw the German club win promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in 13 years.”

Moreira told the club website: “I’m really happy to be here, I’ve heard a lot about the Premier League and a lot about many clubs, so I’m very happy to be at Nottingham Forest, especially at a club that has a lot of tradition just like my old club.

“Me and my family are really happy about this new challenge and I can’t wait to get started and get to know the city, the people and everything about the club.”

Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson said: “We have a number of exciting young players in our squad already and we are pleased that Eric is another young player with high potential who we are excited to add to our ranks.

“We have tracked his progress at both club and international level, and we are looking forward to his continued progression here with us.”

This is Forest's second transfer in just a few days having also brought Marko Stamenić to the club before loaning him straight to Olympiacos.
