Yahoo News Constance Wu talks return to Fresh Off the Boat set after tweet controversy
Contstance Wu has revealed her co-stars' reaction when she returned to the Fresh Off the Boat following her angry tweet controversy, admitting that there was an "outpouring of support".
The actress, who plays Jessica Huang on the ABC series, posted a series of since-deleted tweets earlier this year when the show was renewed for a sixth season saying she was "upset" by the news.
Wu later clarified in a statement that the renewal meant that she had to turn down a project that she was "really passionate about", also expressing regret about her tweets.

The star has since returned to work on Fresh Off the Boat, having thought beforehand that she would receive a negative reception from her co-stars.
"I was so scared," Wu recalled to The Hollywood Reporter. "The public was so pissed off at me that I assumed they were, too. It was a lot of humble pie to eat, but I am really glad for it."
However, she was taken by surprise at the "outpouring" of support she ended up getting, continuing: "It was heartening to know that the me that I represent in life is seen, whereas the me that I represent in tweets is [also] seen — but it’s not the whole story."
The Hustlers star added: "I remember when we first had our gallery shoot coming back, I talked to Hudson [Yang]. I said, 'Hey, I don't know if this affected you, but I am sorry if it did affect you. And I want you to know that it’s not a reflection about how I feel about you or the show.'
"And he was just like, 'Constance, no, we love you. It's OK, don't worry about it. We know you.' I started crying. It was actually really moving."
Fresh Off the Boat will return later this year, to ABC in the US and will follow on 5STAR in the UK.
