Emotional scenes will see Peter heading out of the flat with a holdall in his hand. But out on the Street, he’s touched to find his whole family, except for Simon, waiting outside. Peter then says his farewells to all those who care for him and promises Ken that he’ll keep in touch.
Tracy and Tommy O
There’s friction between Tracy and Steve on Christmas Day when he makes a joke about a relationship gap year that doesn’t go down well.
Deciding to pop over to the flower shop to find a bottle of wine, Tracy soon finds herself serving local footballer Tommy Orpington, who has taken the opportunity to buy a last-minute gift for his mum.
Meet Bobby Donovan
Following Peter’s exit, Carla’s world is rocked once again when she gets an unexpected visitor: Rob Donovan’s son Bobby. He offers up a sob story, but Rob soon phones and puts Carla in the picture. So she ends up agreeing that a thrilled Bobby can stay for a few weeks – if he plays by her rules.
The next day, though, a van delivers all of Bobby’s possessions and Carla’s gutted to realise he’s here to stay. Simon then offers Bobby his bedroom and says he’ll stay at his mum’s, while Carla later finds Bobby chatting up Debbie in the Chariot Square bar and drags him home.
Ed’s gambling secret is revealed
The Baileys have a very meagre Christmas, and Craig reveals to the family that they’ve been unable to trace the burglar.
But events take a surprising turn when Sean and Izzy present Glory with a Wendy house, bought from a pawn shop and which Michael recognises as the one that was stolen. When Craig promises to look into it, the investigation results in the Baileys discovering all about Ed’s gambling.
As jaws drop, Michael demands that Ed leave, while Dee-Dee is furious that both Joel and Ronnie knew about her dad’s problem. When Todd later finds Ed in the precinct ginnel, the guilty gambler admits that his family don’t yet know the worst. But what will happen when he finally decides to come clean?
Jenny and Daisy get the Rovers back
There’s delight for Jenny and Daisy at the week’s end when they discover their bid has been successful and that the Rovers is now officially back in the family.
News soon breaks that the pub will reopen in time for New Year’s Eve, while Daisy believes that Daniel may want to try again after he asks to have a chat with her.
Billy and Paul’s Christmas gets an interruption
Paul and Billy are looking forward to a peaceful flat with a film and a bottle of fizz. But after Paul fails to pick up his phone, fears mount that he may have had a fall, so Chesney and Todd break down the door – only to get more than they bargained for!
Later in the week, a new PA by the name of Moses arrives to relieve Paul of some terrible back pain. A shopping trip then follows, but when Todd catches sight of Moses, it’ll be clear to viewers that he’s smitten.
Stu has big regrets
Eliza is refusing to engage and has her earpods in the entire time, so Stu and Yasmeen are naturally worried for her, knowing how disappointed she was that Dom failed to show for Christmas.
Feeling guilty, Stu eventually breaks the news to Yasmeen that he paid Dom £10,000 to stay away. But she’s horrified and confides in Roy about Stu’s duplicity, expressing her fears that she’s once again falling for a man who continually lies to her.
Coronation Street airs on ITV Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and streams on ITVX.
