Coronation Street fans have reacted to a warning issued before Roy's Rolls café appeared on our screens on Friday night.

As viewers will know, Roy Cropper remains behind bars as he awaits trial. He has been accused of murdering missing teenager Lauren Bolton.

Keen to help Roy in any way they can, his friends and family are frantically trying to gather evidence to prove his innocence, as well as keeping his café going in his absence.

As Friday's episode got underway, viewers saw Bernie Winters behind the counter as Nina Lucas and Bobby Crawford headed to court for another of Roy's hearings.

And before the credits rolled an ITV announcer said: "Here it is, with scenes of distress that some viewers may find upsetting, it's your Friday night Coronation Street".

Fans clearly noticed the warning and took to X, formerly Twitter, to react. Stuart said "Uh-oh scenes of distress" while @ShakyWoon said: "Scenes of distress warning..."

Dave said: "Not more scenes of distress!" Laura said: "The only thing distressing me is Roy behind bars ngl" [sic]

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITVX
