Yahoo News Coronation Street and Morning Live's Kym Marsh confirms her son's engagement
There has been some more happy family news for Coronation Street and Morning Live star, Kym Marsh, after her son got engaged.
The actress and presenter posted a picture of her son David Cunliffe with his new fiancée Courtney, who was showing off her beautiful engagement ring, on Instagram, with a sweet caption.
The happy news comes after Kym married her partner, Army major Scott Ratcliff, last month.
Kym wrote: "So.....last night....this happened!!! My wonderful son @cunliffe890 asked his beautiful girlfriend @courtneyleac to marry him....and she said YES!!!!!! I cannot begin to put into words how ecstatic I am!! To be in their company as a couple is to truly be in the presence of love!
"Anyone that knows us knows how protective I am of my children and I ALWAYS thought I would not like any of David's girlfriends hahah!! How wrong I was. This girl is an absolute diamond, she's kind and compassionate, beautiful inside and out and loves my son with everything she has! I couldn't have wished for anyone better for him and I am super excited to be gaining a daughter!
"Equally Courtney is getting one hell of a guy. I am so so proud of the man that he is, he is a beautiful human and deserves the very best and boy has he got it! Huge congratulations to you both. I can't wait to give you both a big squeeze when you're home!!"

She added: "Magical and happy times for our family right now."
Bride-to-be Courtney, who accepted David's proposal on her birthday, also posted her own pictures and video of her engagement ring on Instagram, captioning them: "The easiest yes I have ever said".
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm, and Morning Live airs weekdays at 9.15am on BBC One.
