Coronation Street is about to return to its former timeslot in an ITV listings shakeup.

Back in 2022, ITV announced it would be changing its soap opera schedule, with Corrie moving to hour-long episodes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm, while Emmerdale was moved to a 7.30pm slot.

However, next week Coronation Street will return to its previous airing time of 7.30pm. As well as this, the long-running ITV soap will be broadcast in five half-hour episodes, with one each night from Monday, May 27, to Friday, May 31.

On these dates Emmerdale will also move, from 7.30pm to its previous 7pm time, and will also run for half an hour each evening. Britain's Got Talent will follow Coronation Street on ITV at 8pm, with its semi final episodes also broadcast every day next week.

Ant and Dec will host as the acts who have made it this far compete in front of judges Simon Cowell, Bruno Tonioli, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon, in the hopes of bagging a place in the final.

The ECHO understands the soaps will return to their usual running times the following week.
