I got a last minute invite to Jurgen Klopp's leaving party and will never get over what happened

A Liverpool FC fan's dream came true after she was unexpectedly invited to Jurgen Klopp's star studded leaving party.

The German's incredible stint in charge of the Reds came to an end yesterday with a 2 - 0 win over Wolves at Anfield. A celebration was held at the Titanic Hotel later that evening in honour of the 56-year-old's remarkable nine year reign.

Amazing clips have emerged from the event of Klopp dancing on stage with John Barnes and being surrounded by members of the squad on the dancefloor. One fan was lucky enough to see it all in person as Roopa Vyas bagged a last minute invite to the bash from her friend who works at the club.

The 27-year-old told the ECHO: "I was staying over in Liverpool [after the match], got back to my hotel and then had a last minute call. 'Do you want to come?' Obviously it was a no brainer and I wasn't going to say no.

"I wasn't prepared for it, I didn't have any inkling of a potential invitation. I didn't pack any nice clothes. I just literally got out of the hotel and got to town for the party."

Roopa hails from South Wales and is a lifelong Liverpool FC fan, who lived in the city for many years while she studied at university. She travels home and away to support the team and even had her face emblazoned on the Kop when she was part of the Converse campaign last year.

However, yesterday was the first time she was able to see her heroes in red in such a casual setting as she said: "The vibe was just everyone was buzzing, especially after a good send off on the pitch. The players were ready to party and it was quite relaxed.

"I'd never been in this sort of environment so it was quite surreal. I walked in and immediately walked past King Kenny [Dalglish], Ian Rush is on the other side and then there's John Barnes. It was just insane and beyond my wildest dreams."

Roopa didn't want to be too intrusive at the party since she was one of few in attendance who weren't employed at the club. However, this meant she almost missed her chance to meet the man of the moment as she was worried Klopp had left the party before she was able to introduce herself.

However, Roopa was delighted to find out the iconic manager was still partying the night away when he appeared on stage next to Barnes. Roopa seized the opportunity to introduce herself once the German had left the stage and said it was "unreal" to meet Klopp in person.

Roopa wanted to thank the boss for everything he had done for the club and also tell him about her work as an ambassador for anti sexism campaign, Her Game Too. She said: "My goal was to give him a badge so I had to fish it out of my pocket to give it to him.

"He put his arm around me, gave me a hug and said 'Anything that supports equality, I'm all for. I love this.' He took the badge and hugged it.

"I know it's something so small, but, for me, Her Game Too, is something I do on the side and I'm so passionate about that." She added: "The fact I met him on literally my last opportunity to meet him. I don't think I'm ever going to get over it."

However, Roopa said her favourite interaction of the night was with the Reds' goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, who was incredibly apologetic after he accidentally knocked her drink over. She said: "Him being so tall and me being so small he probably didn't see me but he knocked my drink into me.

"And he was like 'I'm so sorry'. I said 'it's fine, but to make up for it we can have a selfie'. It was just so nice and then every time I walked past he kept on saying 'I'm so sorry'. I thought 'oh my gosh, he knows who I am'."

Roopa also shared snaps alongside Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sir Kenny Dalglish. She said the opportunity to meet the current Reds' captain was particularly special as she said: "From day one since we signed him, I've just loved the guy.

"His character is quite similar to Klopp. He's a people person but he's also really calm and that's the character of a captain. I just met Virgil, now life is complete."

The evening was scheduled to go on until 4am and Roopa said the former assistant manager, Pep Lijnders, was the life and soul of the party. She said: "He was having the time of his life on the dancefloor.

"I don't think he left the dancefloor. He was getting on stage, getting everyone together and was just living his best life."

Roopa made the journey back to Wales today and said the whole incredible experience is still sinking in. She added: "All I've done since I've got home is just look through my camera roll.

"I just can't believe what's happened. I think I need to sleep and realise when I wake up that it wasn't a dream."
