Yahoo News Coronation Street and Sherlock stars join new sci-fi series from Ghosts creators
Good news, Ghosts fans! A brand new project from the spooky sitcom's creators Ben Willbond and Laurence Rickard is on its way – and it's already boasting quite the cast.
Following the recent news that Ghosts is set to return for a fourth season, Dave has now announced the impending arrival of We Are Not Alone, which will see the subject shift from the supernatural to the extra-terrestrial.
As reported by Radio Times, We Are Not Alone will air on Dave and UKTV Play next year, with stars from the likes of Coronation Street, The Inbetweeners, and Sherlock all on board.
Grantchester's Declan Baxter leads the cast, with former Corrie star Georgia May Foote, The Inbetweeners' Joe Thomas, Amanda Abbington, Lucien Leon Laviscount, Miles Jupp, and Rob Delaney also set to star.
A feature-length special, We Are Not Alone will imagine the trajectory of Earth six weeks after an alien race called the Gu'un conquer the planet.

The story is set to unfold primarily from the perspective of Declan Baxter's Stewart, the Gu'un's official human liaison, who's tasked with winning over the world's population as they bow down to their new alien overlords.
The twist? Stewart is actually a member of the human resistance who's both navigating a romance with Georgia May Foote's Elodie and trying to avoid being found out by his alien housemate Greggs, played by Joe Thomas.
Sounds stressful.

As well as writing and starring in We Are Not Alone, Ben Willbond and Laurence Rickard are being kept busy with a fourth season of Ghosts.
"We are thrilled to be returning to Button House for a fourth series," they said earlier this month. "We have an exciting batch of new stories in store and can't wait to share the next chapter."
We Are Not Alone will air on Dave and UKTV Play in 2022, while Ghosts seasons one, two and three are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
