'Coronation Street' spoilers: Daniel Osbourne proposes to Bethany Platt
Grieving Daniel Osbourne will go to desperate lengths to prove that he’s serious about Bethany Platt in Coronation Street next week.
The young widower – who’s played by Rob Mallard in the ITV soap – is adamant that he’s over wife Sinead, who died tragically last year from cervical cancer.
And to convince new love interest Bethany (Lucy Fallon) that she’s the one he wants, he plans to propose to her.
His grand and not-at-all-going-to-end-badly gesture comes after Sinead’s angry aunt, Beth Tinker, confronts Bethany at Sarah and Adam Barlow’s wedding and congratulates her on airbrushing Sinead out of their lives.

Daniel then gets up to make his best man’s speech but, as he quotes from a letter written by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, he breaks down.
A distraught Bethany watches on, fearing that everyone has been right about Daniel’s fragile state of mind all along and that he’s still in love with his dead wife.
Later, Sarah tries to talk sense into her daughter by trying to get her to accept that Daniel hasn’t moved on from Sinead. Meanwhile, Adam heads off to find Daniel who’s drowning his sorrows in the Rovers.
But Adam is left stunned when Daniel suddenly reveals he’s going to prove that he genuinely does love Bethany – by proposing to her.
Before Adam can stop him, Daniel rushes out onto the street and shouts up to Bethany in her flat. She and Sarah appear at the window and are floored when Daniel pulls out Sinead’s engagement ring and gets down on one knee.
