Little Joseph does a runner
Gemma and Chesney are disconcerted to learn that Joseph is being bullied at school because they can’t afford to buy him things he needs.
Fiz’s advice to Chesney is that he starts to focus more on Joseph, but events go awry when he reports the bullies to the school against the lad’s wishes. Annoyed with his dad for having broken his promise, Joseph decides to run away and, following a fruitless search, Gemma and Chesney decide to report his disappearance to the police.
Scenes to be shown on Wednesday 12 January find Chesney fearing for Joseph’s safety and scouring the streets for his son. But when Gemma learns from the police that they’ve found Joseph’s jumper, Ches can’t help but fear the worst.
Joseph, though, is still out there on the streets, carrying a holdall and a rolled-up tent…
Yasmeen washes her hands of Zeedan and Alya
Alya convinces her brother Zeedan that it’s time they confessed all to their gran. So, on Monday, she explains to Yasmeen how Hashim coerced Zee into laundering his dirty cash through the Speed Daal books.
An outraged Yasmeen is then left further horrified when she realises that her grandson had a hand in the blaze at the restaurant that almost killed Stu. With the truth now out, Yasmeen disowns her grandchildren but when Marrium learns of her anger, she demands to know what’s going on. So will she too learn of the Nazirs’ duplicity?
