Coronation Street stars gush 'perfection' as Jane Danson reveals chat-up line to husband on milestone occasion

Coronation Street star Jane Danson was quickly flooded with messages from her co-stars as she celebrated her anniversary with her husband. The actress, from Bury, has been with actor Robert Beck for more than two decades.

He's also a familiar face in TV, having starred in Brookside, Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, and even had a stint in Corrie in 2008. More recently, Robert played Fergus Collins in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks and had a dramatic short stint in Emmerdale at the end of last year as villain Damon 'Harry' Harris.

But it wasn't actually his first time in the Dales as Robert actually played a character in the soap for more than 70 episodes back in the 90s and long-time Emmerdale fans may remember him. He starred as Bernice Blackstock's love interest Gavin Ferris in 1999 but in a twist, the character was caught kissing Jason Kirk amid his engagement to Bernice.

And when his Emmerdale return - as a new character - was announced, Jane said she 'owes' the soap a lot as she recalled meeting Robert for the first time in 1999 at the British Soap Awards.

Jane, who is famed for playing Leanne Battersby in ITV's Corrie, has previously admitted she had a crush on Robert since she was 15. But after years of friendship, which turned into romance, the loved-up couple tied the knot in 2005 before welcoming their first child Harry just one year later, and their second son Sam in 2009.

And now they're celebrating 25 years together. Taking to Instagram, Jane shared a snap of the pair beaming for the camera as they held onto silver mugs which said '25 wonderful years together'. Captioning the post, Jane revealed what seemingly kickstarted their long romance.

She wrote: "'Excuse me, do you know where the bar is?' @robertbeck529 (that was me asking as I was standing right next to it!). Soap awards may 15th 1999! And the rest as they say is history." And Jane's Corrie co-stars were quick to respond.

Samia Longchambon said: "Happy ‘meeting day’ anniversary guys." Sally Carman-Duttine replied: "Smashing it. Happy Anniversary you lovely pair." Julia Goulding wrote: "You two! Perfection." Tony Maudsley shared: "Awww happy anniversary you two," while George Taylor, Sally Dynevor, Lisa George and Andy Whymnet all posted a string of red love heart emojis in the comments section.

Jane's fans and followers also responded with @gem_mcmillan writing: "Love this. Congratulations. Happy anniversary." @wllson908 said: "A lovely story happy anniversary of the day you met xx a fantastic couple." @phillipabargh replied: "Happy anniversary to a beautiful couple." @shazney66 added: "How lovely."
