Coronation Street's Carla Barlow makes a discovery over Stephen's crimes

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Carla Barlow has made a shocking discovery about Stephen Reid's crimes in Coronation Street.

In recent episodes, Carla has correctly guessed someone engineered her apparent mental health struggle earlier this year by secretly dosing her with the psychedelic drug LSD.

She got all the proof she needed in Wednesday's (October 4) episode when a letter from the drug testing lab arrived with confirmation that she had traces of LSD in her hair sample.

Carla initially suspected Stephen's murder victim Rufus of dosing her to get a better business deal, but a trip to the factory led to a major revelation.

Michael Bailey had coffee waiting for Carla and apologised for its quality because Stephen or Sarah are usually responsible for making the coffee.

This revelation was all Carla needed to finally figure out that Stephen must have drugged her around the time he tried to stage a vote of no confidence among the employees.

Carla wasted no time confronting the serial killer, warning him she knew what he'd been up to with the LSD, and she intended to approve it.

As Stephen struggled to contain this potentially damaging discovery, Carla met with DS Swain to share her suspicion that her employee had drugged her.

DS Swain explained to Carla that she needed more than a hunch to bring charges against Stephen, yet let slip that Stephen may be linked to a suspicious death.

Carla knew the DS must be referring to Leo, whose corpse was recently found on the Baileys' construction site. Can Carla prove a link between her drugging and the recent murders?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
