Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd appears to have shared his thoughts on a possible return for his former co-star after fans pondered whether Helen Flanagan had given them a sign she's set to return to the cobbles.

As fans of the ITV soap know, Jack is famed for playing David Platt, the son of Platt matriarch Gail Platt. Born on Christmas Day 1990, David was originally portrayed by Thomas Ormson in the ITV soap until 2000. The same year, Jack was recast in the role at 12 years old and he has since gone on to play a part in the soap's biggest storylines.

His next role will likely see him involved in the exit scenes of Gail actress Helen Worth after the Corrie legend announced her plans to leave the show after 50 years later this year.

But it appears Jack doesn't doubt a return one day for Helen and her character Rosie Webster. Actress Helen is famed for having played the eldest daughter of former couple Kevin Webster and Sally Metcalfe. She joined the cast in 2000 when she was just nine years old.

Then in 2006, she was nominated for the award of Best Dramatic Performance from a Young Actor or Actress at the British Soap Awards and In 2007, she was nominated for Villain of the Year at the same awards, this time losing to Corrie co-star Jack. Bury-born Helen later left the soap in 2012 but she did return to the role in 2017, before going on maternity leave in June 2018, from which she did not return.

On Wednesday (July 3), Helen took to Instagram to share a number of photos of herself as Rosie over the years. In the first, the now-33-year-old could be seen giving a moody look towards the camera during Rosie's "goth" phase while other pictures showed her in Rosie's school uniform.

Alongside the post, Helen simply said: "Some iconic Rosie moments," alongside a crying laughing emoji. Former on-screen sister Brooke Vincent, who played Sophie Webster, was quick to respond with a string of crying laughing emojis while Richard Fleeshman, who played Rosie's former boyfriend Craig, commented: "#goths."

Sally Dynevor, who still plays Rosie’s mum Sally Metcalfe, said: "Love this," while Jack also hinted at a comeback for Helen as he said of her character: "She shall be back."
