Yahoo News Coronation Street's Ken risks backlash from Audrey in death aftermath

Coronation Street's Ken Barlow makes a bold move next week by visiting Audrey Roberts in the aftermath of Stephen Reid's death.
Ken wants to do the right thing by checking on his long-time friend, who is devastated by the shock demise of her villainous son.
Friday's big episode saw Ken's son Peter mow Stephen down on the cobbles after the serial killer's crimes had come to light.
Peter believed that he was protecting Jenny Connor, who was being used as a hostage by Stephen in his dramatic escape plan. However, Stephen had already backed off from Jenny by the time the vehicle hit him.

Next week, Audrey remains in denial about the extent of Stephen's sinister crimes.
When Audrey crosses paths with Peter at the café, she furiously confronts him for killing her son.
Peter defends himself in front of Audrey, insisting that he was merely protecting Jenny when he intervened.
The next day, Ken visits Audrey at Number 8 to pass on his condolences after Stephen's death.

Will Audrey draw on the support of her friend, or angrily send Ken away due to his connection to Peter?
Sue Nicholls, who plays Audrey, recently revealed that her character is one to watch now that the truth about Stephen is out.
Speaking earlier this week, Sue explained: "We will see her start to lash out a bit and blame others for his actions. That deflection is how she is coping with what her son has done. The alternative is that she blames herself and that is just too much for her to deal with.
"The family are incredibly worried about her because her reactions are irrational. She is on the attack with everybody. She is even sticking up for him despite what he has done to her."
She added: "I still think that what has happened with Stephen could see Audrey off – we are all only on one-year contracts, so you never know.
"The aftermath of what happens this week and the confrontation with Stephen does have a profound effect on Audrey, she is a victim in many respects and how will she cope with that?"
