Maureen Lipman is up for three prizes at this year's Inside Soap Awards.

The 'Coronation Street' star, who portrays Evelyn Plummer in the ITV1 soap, has a nod for Best Actress, Best Comic Performance, and Best Partnership ahead of the ceremony, which will take place in London in September.

Maureen is up against her fellow cobbles stars Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley) and Elle Mulvaney (Amy Barlow) in the Best Actress category, as well as the likes of EastEnders' Danielle Harold, whose character Lola Pearce-Brown died of a brain tumour earlier this year.

Albert Square star Shona McGarty (Whitney Dean), and 'Emmerdale' trio Claire King (Kim Tate), Emma Atkins (Charity Dingle), and Louise Jameson (Mary Goskirk) are among those who also have nods in the category, as does Hollyoaks' Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes McQueen).

Maureen and David Neilson (Roy Cropper) are up for the Best Partnership prize, alongside the likes of Corrie's Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine (Sally and Tim Metcalfe), EastEnders' Balvinder Sopal and Heather Peace (Suki Panesar and Eve Unwin), Emmerdale's Dominic Brunt and Mark Charnock (Paddy and Marlon Dingle), and 'Hollyoaks' pair Ruby O'Donnell and Niamh Blackshaw (Peri Lomax and Juliet Nightingale).

What's more, Maureen has a nod in the Best Comic Performance category.

She will face stiff competition from the likes of her fellow Weatherfield resident Patti Clare (Mary Taylor), as well as 'EastEnders' pair Bobby Brazier (Freddie Slater) and Shane Richie (Alfie Moon); Emmerdale's Samantha Giles (Bernice Blackstock) and Tony Audenshaw (Bob Hope); and Hollyoaks' Chelsee Healey (Goldie McQueen) and Diane Langton (Marlena 'Nana' McQueen).

Maureen's co-star David is up for Best Actor alongside Corrie's Peter Ash (Paul Foreman) and Ryan Prescott, whose character Ryan Connor was the victim of an horrific acid attack this year.

Other stars who took on traumatic plots in 2023 include Jamie Borthwick, who also has a Best Actor nod.

His 'EastEnders' character Jay Brown was heavily involved in his on-screen wife Lola's brain tumour storyline, as was Perry Fenwick, who plays Lola's grandfather Billy Mitchell.

Isabella Brown, who portrays Lola's daughter Lexi Pearce, is up for the Young Performer accolade.

She will face off against the likes of 'Corrie' pair Isabella Flanagan (Hope Stape) and Jude Riordan (Sam Blakeman), as well as her Albert Square co-star Lillia Turner (Lily Slater).

'EastEnders', 'Coronation Street', 'Emmerdale' and 'Hollyoaks' are up for the big prize of the night - Best Soap.

Inside Soap Awards voting opens midday on Tuesday 4 July, and votes can be placed via the form in the magazine or on www.insidesoap.co.uk.
