Yahoo News Corrie's Andy plans a suicide in dark new plot

Coronation Street's Andy Carver starts making plans to take his own life in tragic scenes next week.
Andy (Oliver Farnworth) has been Pat Phelan's prisoner since January, when he narrowly escaped being killed by the evil villain.
Viewers were shocked when it was revealed that Andy had been locked away in a dingy cellar for months on end. Aside from a brief interlude where Phelan briefly considered freeing him, he's stayed there ever since.
Corrie takes the storyline to dark new levels next week, as Andy starts to lose hope that he'll ever be freed.
Not wanting to be stuck in the cellar forever, and also struggling with being tormented by Phelan, Andy starts to secretly stockpile painkillers as he considers suicide in upsetting scenes.
Little more is known about Andy's plan at this stage or whether he'll go through with it, but viewers will naturally be hoping that his troubled state of mind improves and that he'll keep fighting.
Prior to this latest storyline twist, Andy does suggest an intriguing idea to Phelan – promising to commit his own crime if he's set free, which would ensure he couldn't go to the police to report Phelan without incriminating himself.
We're yet to find out whether Phelan could agree to this idea in the long-run, but it's fair to say that he'll have some serious doubts. Could this be Andy's lifeline if Phelan suddenly agrees to go ahead with it?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
