It's that time of the year again! Coronation Street has some huge storylines coming to a climax next week as the show switches to a 9pm timeslot for the duration of the Britain's Got Talent live shows.

From the conclusion of Ken's attack mystery to the shock exit of Nick Tilsley, there'll be plenty of drama to keep fans gripped across the whole week – so here's your full spoiler roundup of what to expect.

1. Shona's history is revisited

Ever since the big reveal that Shona is the mum of killer Clayton, it's been easy to forget that she also shares a dark history with another Corrie villain. When Shona was first introduced last December, she was homeless after escaping from Nathan's clutches, but was fortunately rescued when Billy brought her back to the Street.

This hasn't been touched on too much recently and Shona still has absolutely no idea that Bethany's boyfriend Nathan is the same guy who tried to groom her last year. Fortunately, the penny drops next week when Craig mentions that the teen's troublesome love interest runs a tanning salon.

Horrified as the truth dawns on her, Shona goes straight to the salon and bravely stands up to Nathan by warning him to stay away from Bethany.

2. Shona is beaten up

Sadly, it seems that Shona's bravery is what leads to her being brutally beaten up. Paparazzi photographers caught these scenes being filmed last month and it wasn't entirely clear who'd want to target her, but it all makes so much more sense now that we know she's crossing paths with evil Nathan again.

Shona is about to do the right thing by calling the police about Nathan when two menacing thugs approach her, knocking away her phone. After stopping her from reporting Nathan, the men subject Shona to a vicious attack – and there's no prizes for guessing whose orders they must be acting on...

3. Bethany's ordeal gets even more sinister

We're getting pretty used to seeing Bethany Platt in disturbing scenes, but her situation reaches a whole new level of darkness when Nathan arranges another sleazy party at his flat. Nathan secretly confides in his partner-in-crime Mel about his plans to take Bethany's abuse further – and his evil intentions become clear when he secretly drugs the impressionable teen.

With Bethany's judgement affected after she's had her drink spiked, Nathan encourages her to slip away from the party and entertain three of his friends in the bedroom. How far will things go this time?

4. Bethany's family discover what's really going on

Bethany's loved ones have had a bad feeling about Nathan for a while now, but they still don't know the half of it, which has only left her all the more vulnerable.

Despite the brutal warning she's seemingly received from Nathan, there's still no stopping Shona from trying to save Bethany and she stays loyal to David by revealing what's really going on with his niece.

Shona's revelation leads to a dramatic rescue attempt as she teams up with David, Sarah and Gary to force their way into Nathan's flat, but will it be too late to save Bethany from his sickening plan?

5. Bethany hears the truth about Nathan

A key part of Bethany's storyline is her struggle to see that Nathan's actions are wrong, with his manipulation and influence proving too great. Even when her horrified family try to speak to her about Nathan's true colours next week, Bethany finds it difficult to accept what Sarah and co are saying about her "boyfriend".

Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany, explained this week: "She still won't accept that Nathan's done anything wrong. She's not listening to anything that the Platts are saying to her and she refuses to believe any of it.

"It's going to take her a long time to get her head round it. She believes everything that Nathan says to her, because in her eyes, she's been in a relationship with him for the last six months. When people start saying to her that she's been groomed, she can't accept that, because to her they're engaged and they love each other.

"An important part of portraying this storyline is that a lot of survivors of grooming and sexual exploitation say that they still couldn't see what was happening to them until a long time after it had been exposed."

6. Ken's attacker decides to confess

Could the sinister culprit who pushed Ken down the stairs in March actually have a conscience? Hmm, we have our doubts after they've kept quiet for so long and let half the Street get the blame, but it seems they're ready to face the music next week after finally being caught out.

We've already revealed how Ken stumbles across the truth in this Friday's exciting double bill of episodes, leading to high drama next week as the soap legend decides it's time to confront his attacker once and for all.

While you'll obviously have to stay tuned to find out who it is and how that tricky conversation goes, the aftermath sees the police arrest the mystery individual, who then vows to make a full and frank confession. Well, that certainly saves useless detective DS Mackinnon a lot of hassle!

7. Nick and Leanne split up

Everyone knows about the life-or-death drama ahead for Nick at the beach next week, but you might have missed the important detail that it's actually curtains for his relationship with Leanne even before that happens.

Nick seems to finally be making progress when he arranges a trip to the seaside with Leanne, Peter, Steve, Toyah, Simon and baby Oliver, but he quickly causes a petty squabble during a kickabout on the sand.

Leanne isn't impressed at all with Nick's behaviour, but the final straw comes when she overhears him confessing to Peter about how he could have given him a 'Who Pushed Ken?' alibi weeks ago but chose not to. Heading home early in disgust, it's clear that Leanne is done with Nick and he's devastated by her final rejection.

8. Nick dies?

When Nick finds himself alone and isolated on the beach after his bad behaviour, his day suddenly gets even worse when he stumbles into some deadly quicksand.

The combination of the quicksand's dangerous pull and the rapidly rising tide soon leaves Nick in mortal peril, with Peter and Steve his only hope when they see how much trouble he's in and try to rescue him.

As this is Ben Price's exit week as Nick, there are no guarantees that he'll pull through – and a sneaky spoiler picture showing Leanne staring mournfully at her engagement ring is either a huge hint or a clever red herring.

9. Johnny attends his scan

Johnny Connor's mysterious health problems have become a real cause for concern recently and we've already seen him told that he'll have to undergo tests for Parkinson's and MS.

Still too proud to accept much support, Johnny tells Kate that he'd much rather attend his hospital appointment alone. When he returns, he assures his worried daughter that everything is fine, but is he telling the truth?

10. Kevin prepares a big surprise for Anna

As Anna turns 50 next week, Kevin is determined to make sure the occasion doesn't pass by quietly and arranges a surprise birthday party for her.

There's been more than a few obstacles for the couple recently as Anna hasn't been herself since the car accident on the cobbles that left her badly burned, but could this celebration be her chance to move on at last? Or will she hate all the attention?

Either way, we'll be keeping our eyes on Erica Holroyd as she helps Kevin to prepare for the party, especially knowing they might be heading for an affair in her upcoming exit plot...

11. Cathy makes her move on Brian

Who'd have thought Cathy would be providing the light relief?! Adding some much-needed humour into a pretty gloomy week for Corrie, Cathy goes all-out to win over Brian after being rejected by him yet again.

Cathy is adamant that she and Brian could be a great couple, if he'd only let go of his fears that Roy wouldn't approve. Pointing out they're both grown adults and can do what they want, Cathy proves her point with a passionate kiss – but will Brian be tempted?
