Coronation Street youngster Summer Spellman drops some big news about Todd Grimshaw when she returns to screens next week.
Summer hasn't been seen since she left the Cobbles with Todd over Christmas, but fans already knew that wouldn't be the last we'd see of her, as the actress has been pictured filming scenes on location on more than one occasion.
However, upcoming scenes will see Summer reunited with Billy Mayhew in the wake of a sad twist regarding Todd.
After weeks of no contact, Billy will be given newfound hope when he takes a call from Todd – who has asked for them to meet the following day, before heading away with Summer.
However, when Eileen drives the vicar to meet both him and Summer, he is confused to find the schoolgirl alone – with Todd nowhere to be seen.
Summer is then forced to drop the bad news that Todd won't be joining them after all as the police caught up with them – meaning he now faces charges for assaulting the police officer.
As a horrified Billy processes the news, Summer heads back to Weatherfield and straight into another big decision over her future.
After reuniting with a worried Geraldine, Summer gives her grandmother some home truths – admitting they only went on the run because of her.
Summer also announces that she's planning to stay with Billy now she's back on the Street, but how will the duo cope without Todd?
Bruno Langley – who played Todd – was sacked by the ITV soap in October after an off-screen scandal saw him accused of two counts of sexual assault. He recently pleaded guilty to both charges at Manchester Magistrates' Court.
Langley didn't film an exit scene before being dropped by Coronation Street, forcing show bosses to write his abrupt departure storyline – which is playing out at the moment.
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, January 22 and Wednesday, January 24 on ITV.
