Yahoo News Corrie cliffhanger sees Eva get her comeuppance
Coronation Street's dramatic wedding day has resulted in a huge revenge twist – but it was Maria Connor who dished out the just desserts.
Maria (Samia Longchambon) just ruined everything for her love rival Eva Price by storming into her happy ceremony and exposing her fake pregnancy to everyone.
Monday's Corrie double bill saw Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) finally forgive her fiancé Aidan Connor for his affair with Maria, after he did the right thing by confessing to her on the morning of the wedding.
Although she'd been planning to jilt Aidan (Shayne Ward) at the altar, Eva decided to go ahead with the wedding for real in a last-minute change of heart.
She also begged Adam Barlow to call off their ruthless scheming over Underworld, unaware that it was already far too late for that.
Optimistic Eva hoped that she could have her fairytale nuptials against all the odds, but she didn't count on Maria gatecrashing the big day in dramatic scenes.
Having planned her own payback to perfection, Maria had placed copies of Eva's fake baby scan underneath every single seat at the wedding.
The stage was then set for Maria to reveal that Eva wasn't pregnant at all, even encouraging the guests to do a quick Google on their phones to verify that her scan actually came from the internet.
Corrie fans have now been left on tenterhooks wondering what the future holds for Aidan and Eva, and whether they stand any chance of working things out.
On Sunday, Corrie released these pictures from Wednesday's double bill (September 20), which see Aidan and Eva having an emotional heart-to-heart at the wedding venue – but will it be enough to save their relationship?
And what does the future hold for Underworld, after two men were seen emptying the factory's contents into a large truck?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
